Mexico is a market you enter once. Enter it right.

CrossWave takes international companies from a first feasibility question to a running operation in Mexico. Strategy, regulation and the relationships that make both work.

Monterrey

The industrial powerhouse of the north. Advanced manufacturing, steel and logistics with direct reach into the United States.

Expansions rarely fail because Mexico is difficult. They fail because steps were skipped.

One engagement, three phases

An expansion unfolds in a sequence, and our work follows it. Nothing gets done out of order and nothing gets missed.

Assess

Market entry strategy

Before you commit capital you need an honest read of the market. Where the demand is, who you will compete with, and what it will really cost to operate. You leave this phase with a written strategy and a clear recommendation, not a brochure.

  • Market sizing and demand analysis
  • Competitor and pricing landscape
  • Route to market design, from distributor to direct presence
  • Risk assessment and a straight answer on whether to proceed

Establish

Regulation and setup

Mexico rewards preparation and punishes shortcuts. Tax registration with SAT, sector approvals through COFEPRIS, trademark protection via IMPI, and IMMEX programs for manufacturers. We map the approvals your business needs, in the order it needs them, working alongside vetted local counsel.

  • Regulatory roadmap for your specific sector
  • Compliance review of your planned operation
  • Coordination with legal counsel on entity setup
  • Permitting and filing timelines you can plan around

Grow

Business development

Business in Mexico is built on relationships and regular, direct communication. A cold email will not open the doors that a trusted introduction will. This is where our network becomes yours.

  • Partner, distributor and client introductions
  • Negotiation support with cultural fluency
  • Growth strategy and key account development
  • Expansion into additional regions

Questions clients ask first

How long does market entry into Mexico take?

It depends on your sector and structure. Selling through a distributor can begin within a few months. Setting up your own entity with regulatory approvals takes longer, especially in regulated sectors such as healthcare or food. The assessment phase gives you a realistic timeline before you commit a peso.

Do I need a Mexican company to sell in Mexico?

Not always. Many companies start with a local distributor, agent or representative, which requires no Mexican entity at all. A local entity becomes important when you sell to the government, hire staff, or need direct control of your operation. Choosing the right structure is one of the first decisions we work through together.

What is an IMMEX program?

IMMEX is a Mexican government program that lets manufacturers temporarily import materials and equipment without paying certain duties, as long as the finished goods are exported. It is the backbone of near shore manufacturing in Mexico. We help you determine whether it fits your operation and how to qualify.

Which regulators will my business deal with?

Every business registers with SAT, the tax authority. After that it depends on your sector. Health, food and cosmetic products go through COFEPRIS. Trademarks and patents go through IMPI. Manufacturers and exporters may work with the Economy Ministry on IMMEX and rules of origin. We map the exact approvals you need before you spend money on the wrong ones.

How does CrossWave work with clients?

You work directly with Mar and her network, not a rotating team of junior analysts. Engagements follow three phases: assess, establish and grow. We take on projects where our experience genuinely changes the outcome, and we tell you honestly when the timing is not right.
